Responsibilities

Participates in the preparation, organization and overall coordination of the site, specifically in relation to all aspects of concrete in meeting and completing project specifications.

â ¢ Orders or participates in the order of equipment and materials, taking budgetary decisions with other stakeholders.

â ¢ Together with Project Manager, works on the creation of teams, internal transfers and ensures the right people are assigned to the jobs as required and as qualified

â ¢ Assists in the choice of specified technical options and in the definition of required equipment and materials.

â ¢ In collaboration with the Design Offices, chooses the building methods for optimized feasibility and safety, adhering to all project requirements.

â ¢ Represents the company professionally at all times, adhering to standards and practices and to the Code of Ethics.

â ¢ Oversees maintenance / general services onsite.

â ¢ Provides direction to the Subcontractor Supervisors, organizes their work, sets objectives, checks schedules and timeframes, efficiency and quality of production, etc.

â ¢ Ensures the resources for inspection are sufficient and works to resolve any issues.

â ¢ Draws up the necessary sub schedules for work

â ¢ Ensures scheduling / quality / safety objectives are respected.

â ¢ Ensures the execution of integrated sub-contracted works or those necessary for the structure

â ¢ Implements site-specific procedures.

â ¢ Liaises, in all areas, between the site and stakeholders in the MIP office.

â ¢ Integrates and manages the constraints of other parties working on-site as well as the co-activity.

â ¢ Ensures consistency of Health and Safety Plans regarding all external parties on-site.

â ¢ Implements the EcoPlan for their site.

â ¢ Continuously analyzes and suggests improvements in performance

â ¢ Finalizes, with the relevant management department, the works budget for milestone progress points and analyzes and explains any variances.

Requirements

Proven track record in leading, uniting and directing teams on large-scale construction projects.

â ¢ Adaptability, capable of teaching and passing on knowledge.

â ¢ Proven problem-solving skills and ability to analyze data and identify trends.

â ¢ Previous proven experience in large scale projects earthworks removals.

Skills, Competencies, Attributes

â ¢ Capable of establishing procedures or specific instructions for the site, in collaboration with Safety, Contract Management, Quality, Project Managers, etc.

â ¢ Has good knowledge of contractual requirements of the project.

â ¢ Knows how to draw up independently the Earth Works removal schedule of a standard site.

â ¢ Knowledge of the regulations of earth movement, sediment control, packing, boring, etc.

â ¢ Knows the materials and techniques required to complete the project being overseen

â ¢ Can analyze the compatibility between the different execution documents of the site : plan bills of quantities, etc.

â ¢ Interprets, analyzes, explains complex drawings and manages the latest version of the execution drawings.

â ¢ Can draw up the diagrams and the bills of quantities needed for the execution of the structures

â ¢ Interprets and adapts the execution schedule.

â ¢ Can define needs regarding personnel, tools and basic equipment to ensure individual and collective protection.

â ¢ Knows the materials, equipment and the usual techniques for building the structure

â ¢ Defines procedures beforehand and has them validated by the Project Director.

â ¢ Carries out regular site visits in order to identify compliance with Quality-Safety-Environmental rules and regulations.

â ¢ Verifies and documents non-compliances and ensures follow up and corrective actions are implemented.

â ¢ Proficient in MS Office Suite

â ¢ Valid driver's licence and ability to provide a Driver's Abstract upon hire.

â ¢ Operator's license on earth moving equipment an asset.

â ¢ Technical knowledge of site techniques and cost controls

â ¢ Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

â ¢ Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

â ¢ Self-directed, takes initiative and enhances team work.

â ¢ Positive attitude, professional and reliable

â ¢ Ability to work on site- including outdoors in all types of Edmonton weather, at heights, climbing stairs and ladders as required, exposure to noise and dust.
