Specialist Network Car Maintenance

Purpose

As a Specialist, Network Car Maintenance, you play a critical role in keeping our rail network running smoothly. You will manage and balance unscheduled railcar repairs across the system to maintain operational fluidity, support train servicing functions, and deliver accurate metrics and reporting. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills and the confidence to make clear, timely decisions that directly impact network efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage databases and generate incident and issue reports that help shape business decisions and improve performance.
• Partner with field teams and customer support to resolve customer rejects, accurately identifying root causes and preventing future issues.
• Lead the car setoff process by working closely with operations, transportation, and repair facilities to keep railcars moving efficiently.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on key initiatives and represent the company in interactions with foreign railroads.
• Monitor and manage high‑idle bad‑order cars, ensuring timely billing and movement to minimize downtime.
• Own the central email inbox, providing clear, timely information to field operations and ensuring smooth workflows.
