The Opportunity :

The Director of Business Development and Partnerships is responsible for creating and nurturing executive-level and strategic relationships with existing clients, potential partners, and industry stakeholders.

Leveraging an extensive understanding of Symcor's capabilities and value proposition, the Director identifies and pursues new business opportunities that align with Symcor's vision and goals.

The Director plays a crucial role in developing and executing innovative solutions that enhance Symcor's offerings, delivering exceptional value to clients and partners (including Financial Institutions, FinTech companies, and other businesses) to drive business growth and foster innovation.

We expect that the candidate is available to come in for purpose-driven planned, and ad-hoc meetings such as in-person team collaborations, team events, workshops, etc. based on team needs.

About The Role :

  • Lead and Foster Relationships.
  • Cultivate industry, client, and prospect relationships with Senior Executives and C-Level Decision Makers.
  • Qualify potential partners or acquisition targets at the top of the funnel.
  • Identify a pipeline of strategic partners across Core, Emerging, and net-new products and services, collaborating with Industry Senior Executives.
  • Strategic Opportunity Sequencing.
  • Deeply understand internal processes and partner dynamics.
  • Sequence growth opportunities based on effort and impact, ranging from low-effort to high-impact initiatives.
  • Secure Partnerships and Acquisitions.
  • Actively pursue strategic partnerships and acquisition targets aligned with Symcor's growth initiatives.
  • Executive Presentations and Contract Negotiations.
  • Develop comprehensive presentations to support the VP of Business Development & Industry Relations in engagements with C-Suite executives and board members.
  • Skillfully negotiate favorable contracts for partnerships and acquisitions.

What You Need to Succeed :

Education :

  • University / College Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • An MBA would be an asset.

Experience :

  • Minimum of 10 years in Analytics and Strategy, Business Administration, Financial Services, FinTech, Business Development and Partnerships, Corporate Development.
  • Experience cultivating strong internal relationships to support business developments and new partnerships.

  • Strategic thinking and planning to identify and pursue new opportunities for growth.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate the value proposition and benefits of collaborations.
  • Relationship building and networking skills to establish and maintain trust and rapport with potential and existing partners.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills to secure favorable terms and conditions for partnerships.
  • Market research and analysis skills to understand the needs and trends of customers and competitors.
  • Project management and coordination skills to oversee the implementation and evaluation of partnership initiatives.
  • Creativity and innovation skills to design and deliver impactful and customized solutions for partners.
  • Financial and budgeting skills to assess the profitability and sustainability of partnerships.
  • Leadership and team-building skills to motivate and inspire internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and resilience skills to cope with changing environments and challenges.
  • Highly organized with excellent prioritization skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
