Job description
As the Data Science Manager,you will report to the IT Director and play a key role in creating andexecuting strategies based on data driven analysis.
You will manage, build andmentor a team of skilled data professionals, who must adapt quickly to achanging, competitive, and fast-paced industry.
You will also have knowledgeand experience of the latest AI concepts and capabilities, participating in ournew data initiatives.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Build and lead the team, drive accountability,sets performance objectives, holds regular team meetings and communicatesdirection and changes;
- Manages day-to-day operations, ensures on-timeproject completion, and quality / accuracy of team output;
- Champions data-driven decision making acrossfunctions by making analytical recommendations based on operational, financial,customer data and benchmarks;
- Uses advanced analytics techniques to improve customer / employeeexperience and end-to-end business processes, with a focus on optimization andsimulation techniques;
- Applies data science expertise in machinelearning, statistics, text-mining / NLP, forecasting and optimization to multipleprojects leveraging real world data;
- Uses data, visualization, slide-basedstorytelling, and data technologies to scope, define and deliver AI-based dataproducts, as well as communicate insights with leadership to strategicallyinfluence decisions of business operations management and create value;
- Works on full-spectrum of activities, fromconducting ML experiments to delivering production-ready models;
- Provides advanced data mining techniques toprovide fact-based analysis. Leverages agility and creativity to maximize valueand insight delivered by data analysis.
- Utilizes varied and complex datasources, including enterprise data lake, cloud and diverse source systems;
- Assemble and analyze data to understand customerbehavior from existing data, external data sources and emerging sources.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree in analytics, data science,engineering, statistics, mathematics or related fields;
- Recent relevant team building and leadershipexperience;
- Minimum7 years experience in managing and analyzing data with advanced techniquesalong with recent management experience;
- Experience in analytics, operations researchtechniques such as process optimization and simulation techniques;
- Strong understanding of operations research(linear and mixed integer programming) and experience building priceoptimization models, promotional targeting, and a / b testing.
- Holds vast industry knowledge, with diverseproducts, services, policies and procedures, regulations and related regulatoryrequirements (an asset);
- Understanding of different AI models, tools andconcepts;
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, Power BI and DAX,Expertise with core data science tools and familiarity with different databasesystems (e.g., SQL);
- Experiencewith various enterprise-level Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), churn,CLV, customer segmentation and persona building;
- Excellent English oral & written skills / Fluent in French.
