OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for full-time Heavy Duty Mechanics and Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanics located in Alida, SK.

The successful candidate will provide maintenance for Vertex’s equipment. This position will work with semi-trucks and trailers.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeymen certificate or Registered Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanics
• Red Seal certification is considered an asset
• Can complete a CVIP inspection is an asset
• 1-6 years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, preferably with semi-truck and trailer experience (hydraulic repairs and diesel engine repair)
• Class 5 License with a clean drivers’ abstract
• Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
• Current and up to date first-aid and H2S alive safety certificates is an asset
• A valid class 1 or 3 drivers’ license is considered an asset

RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections, on heavy truck and trailer equipment, in the shop and in the field.

EngineDrive TrainWiring and light problems,Electrical diagnostics,Air system,Wheels,Brakes,and steering components etc.

• Complete required documentation and reporting for inspections and repairs
• Prepare work orders / cost estimates for service approval
• Conduct all job responsibilities in accordance with Vertex HSE standards, guidelines, and rules
