Sales Associate

Description

The sales associate will provide service to customers, sort incoming products and assists the store supervisor in the maintenance of all store operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Serving customers and using cash register including taking responsibility for the accurate completion of all customer transactions; answering telephone
• Handling merchandise as directed by the store supervisor
• Rotating store stock; replacing old stock with new stock
• Ensuring store is always stocked.
• Sorting and pricing store merchandise; taking priced items to sale area.
• Assisting in always keeping store tidy and clean
• Keeping window display updated
• Preparing garbage for pick-up
• Accepting drop-offs of merchandise
• Keeping stock room organized
• Helping with deposit at the end of the day
• Performs other duties as assigned

TERM : Temporary, full-time; Sick leave replacement; 35 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :

• Can work within a Christian faith-based setting and uphold the mission, vision, and values of The Salvation Army
• Have completed High School
• Have experience in the retail sector; preferred but not essential
• Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Have physical effort / dexterity for continuously standing for long periods of time, frequent twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling, and kneeling.
• Obtain a Criminal Police / Vulnerable Sector Check and clearance through The Salvation Army Internal Abuse Registry and be willing to sign The Salvation Army Code of Conduct Receipt & Acknowledgement Form
