Job Description
As an integral member of the Capital Planning & Redevelopment team and working under the Senior Project Manager and Director of Capital Planning & Redevelopment, the Senior Project Coordinator will act as the hospital’s representative working with a multi-disciplinary team of hospital staff, professional consultants, contractors, subcontractors to guide the planning, design, implementation, contract administration and close out of capital projects at any of the Mackenzie Health sites.
The incumbent will work with users to address change requests, propose alterations to address change requests, and / or lead RFP process to obtain consultants to develop those plans. The incumbent will also prepare budgets / estimates for the projects and be required to issue the appropriate documentation to effect the changes (pending approvals) and be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the work and notify the appropriate groups informing them of the impacts of the implementation of the work. This role may also be required to work with users and architects, engineers, healthcare planners to create a functional program, design sketches and coordinate test-fits to resolve program issues. This role will also be required to prepare sketches to describe the scope of the project and / or review drawings provided by consultants (when applicable), perform site reviews and inspections, review progress billings and verify that the work is being performed in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Responsible for providing technical input and support to the Senior Project Manager and other Redevelopment team members where required.
- Prepares RFP's for Architects, Consultants and / or Contractors (from issuance, through to evaluation, award and implementation) to support assigned projects.
- Key liaison between end users, architects, construction team and consultants to ensure client and Hospital objectives are met throughout the entire planning process.
- Liaises with departmental team members within the hospital team to ensure all associated project activities are coordinated.
- Responsible for site review of architectural building assemblies, finishes, coordination and integration of ICAT
- Responsible for expediting and tracking Hospital input into RFI’s / Shop drawings, Variations.
- Works closely with team to stay abreast of status of construction and identify potential changes / variations.
- Prepare project budgets and schedules for projects.
- Plan and coordinate end-user relocations (when required) and monitor execution.
- Coordinates implements and manages multiple complex redevelopment projects to support the Redevelopment Team across multiple sites.
- Assists with training staff on new departmental processes
- Liaise with project users (clinical and non-clinical) and other stakeholders to ensure needs are addressed and issues resolved to meet objectives of the project.
- Sources and procures specialty items required for execution of projects.
- Perform other tasks as may be assigned by reporting manager
