Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for the casual position of Outdoor After School Leader.

The Adventure Earth programs engages children, youth and families in nature-based experiential programs in environmental / earth education, youth leadership, and outdoor recreation. We use the principles of Earth Education, including the use of characters and story telling.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Program Delivery & Facilitation :
- Lead daily after school sessions focused on outdoor adventure, environmental education, and experiential learning
- Facilitate activities such as nature walks, survival skills, team challenges, outdoor games, and creative environmental projects
- Adapt programming to meet the developmental needs, interests, and abilities of diverse groups of children and youth
- Ensure activities align with Adventure Earth Centre philosophy, curriculum goals, and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with parents / guardians regarding daily highlights and any concerns

WORK STATUS : Casual Full-Time. Starting immediately – June 30th, 2026
HOURS OF WORK : Monday to Friday 2 : 30 – 5 : 30pm.
SALARY : Non-Union; $17.50 per hour (plus 4% vacation pay). (Min. wage +$1).
WORK LOCATION : Adventure Earth Centre - Shubie Park (Fairbanks Centre - 54 Locks Rd, Dartmouth)
