Role Responsibilities
We are looking for a dedicated individual to lead and support our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) program. As the Health and Safety Program Assistant, you will report to the Forestry Safety Programs Lead and operate within the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act), Regulations, and Code. Your mission will be to assist the safety team and offer vital support for the strategic implementation, operation and enhancement of the Forestry Division\'s OHS program. This program plays a key role within the broader Government of Alberta (GoA) OHS program.
Responsibilities
- Assist in investigating and reporting on safety incidents, ensuring full compliance with legislative requirements.
- Support safety training programs and maintain records.
- Support the implementation and smooth operation of the Forestry Division\'s OHS management system.
- Monitor safety performance and assist in fire season safety coordination.
- Assist with formal evaluations (COR) to continuously improve and ensure the OHS management system remains current, relevant, and compliant with legislated requirements.
