Just HR ( a Horizon company) has been engaged to conduct a search for a Payroll Associate for a growing company in the financial services sector. Our client, one of Canada’s largest independent investment dealers, is seeking an experienced payroll professional to join their dynamic team. With a national footprint and approximately 300 employees, including commission-based professionals and salaried staff, this growing financial services firm administers over $10 billion in assets. The payroll specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring someone with proven leadership skills and the ability to streamline processes while managing a small team. This role will be primarily in office. Our client values flexibility and supports career development.
Responsibilities :
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 300 employees, including commission-based professionals with complex compensation structures and salaried staff across Canada.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial payroll regulations, including year-end reporting and tax filings.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, HR, and departmental managers, to resolve payroll-related inquiries and ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
- Handle escalated payroll issues, providing hands-on support to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
- Monitor payroll system functionality, recommending upgrades or process improvements as needed.
- Prepare detailed payroll reports and analysis for senior leadership, offering insights into trends and opportunities for cost optimization.
