Product Owner
Location : Vancouver, BC | Remote in Canada
Reports to : The CEO
About the Role
The Product Owner is responsible for driving product development from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with customer needs, market demands, and business objectives. This role bridges the gap between business strategy, technology execution, and market needs to deliver competitive and revenue-generating products.
The Product Owner leads the Agile development process, facilitates Scrum ceremonies, and collaborates cross-functionally to define, prioritize, and execute product initiatives. They oversee product lifecycle management, drive security and compliance efforts, and optimize integrations with key partners such as Sabre and Amadeus GDS.
Additionally, this role plays a pivotal part in revenue growth by managing go-to-market strategies, engaging with clients, and ensuring seamless adoption of new features.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap Management
Develop and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap, aligning it with company goals and client needs.
Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitive benchmarks, and emerging technologies.
Prioritize product initiatives based on business value, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
Define and track success metrics for product features using tools like Pendo, NPS, and churn analysis.
Agile & Scrum Leadership
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Standups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives, Product Demos, and Project Syncs.
Ensure sprint deliverables meet design, quality, and budget specifications while following Agile best practices.
Continuously refine Agile and Scrum processes to improve development efficiency and team performance.
Monitor sprint velocity, team output, and product delivery timelines to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Product Development & Lifecycle Management
Manage the full product lifecycle, including infrastructure upgrades, security enhancements, compliance (GDPR, PCI, SOC2), new features, improvements, and bug fixes.
Oversee development and enhancement of integrations with registration software, MMX Public APIs, GDS, and other key platforms.
Work closely with the development team to ensure API and data sync solutions align with client needs.
Ensure new feature releases support the company’s revenue strategy and market positioning.
Client & Stakeholder Collaboration
Engage with clients to gather insights, validate new feature feasibility, and drive product adoption.
Serve as the main point of contact for high-value clients regarding product-related discussions and roadmaps.
Work closely with sales and customer support teams to ensure effective communication and training on new product features.
Security, Compliance & Risk Management
Identify and mitigate security and compliance risks (ie. GDPR, PCI, and SOC2.)
Collaborate with the Security Officer to review and improve security posture regularly.
Ensure security requirements are integrated into the product development process.
Partnerships & Integrations
Manage relationships with key adoption partners ensuring strong ROI.
Optimize API integrations with third-party providers to enhance product reliability and performance.
Benchmark against competitors to maintain a competitive edge.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, manage, and provide accountability for the software development team.
Oversee department KPIs, monitor team activity, and identify areas for improvement.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management support for team members.
Hire, onboard, and manage the performance of new development team members.
What You’ll Bring
Experience : Proven background in product management, Agile methodologies, and software development.
Technical Knowledge : Familiarity with APIs, security compliance, and cloud infrastructure.
Leadership Skills : Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage priorities, and drive results.
Problem-Solving : Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing solutions.
Communication : Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

- You have a background in hotel services or event planning.
- You understand hotel room blocks and the nuances of hotel contracting.
- You’ve worked with event software such as registration platforms or housing management systems.
- You’ve worked with hotel software such as property management systems (PMS), central reservation systems (CRS), or GDS platforms.
