The Red Chris Site Services team is now recruiting for the position of Waste Water Treatment Operator with a competitive hourly rate of $50.13.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Purpose of the Role

To perform maintenance and operation of our water treatment and wastewater treatment plants within the Site Maintenance Team. To safely perform scheduled and unscheduled tasks to optimize equipment and system availability and to contribute to the performance of the Site Maintenance Team

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Controlling the flow and processing of water / wastewater, residuals and finished water / effluent.
  • Monitoring gauges, meters and control panels and observing variations in operating conditions.
  • Interpreting test results to determine processing requirements.
  • Operating valves and gates either manually or by remote control.
  • Starting and stopping pumps, engines and generators to control and adjust flow and treatment process.
  • Ability to record and maintain all activities with respect to the water treatment plants as legal documentation for compliance and reporting.
  • Collecting samples and performing routine laboratory tests and analysis.
  • Performing routine maintenance functions and repairs to critical components.
  • Maintain a critical spares inventory.
  • Making operating decisions in the absence of supervisory personnel.
  • SAP Knowledge.
  • High level of good house keeping standards.
  • Working knowledge of the maintenance of various types of pumps, controllers and waterworks.
  • Familiar with the laws that apply to drinking water and municipal wastewater regulation.
  • Ability to mix reagents such as chlorine and potassium permanganate to refill reagent addition containers accurately and safely.
  • Other duties as may be required.

    About You

    Position requirements include, but are not limited to :

  • Certified EOCP Level 1 Water Certification and Level 2 Wastewater Certification.
  • Ensure that certifications are up to date and consistent with site demands.
  • Minimum 2 years’ related work experience, operating a water treatment plant.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing and pipefitting
