Fish RecruitNorth York, Ontario, CanadaCandidates must reside in the GTA area to be considered for this role as they will be required to be in the office approximately 3 days a week at the Toronto Corporate Office (located in downtown Toronto).
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on lawyer with strong business acumen, capable of working independently and collaboratively with multi-stakeholder teams and external partners. The successful candidate will provide legal advice on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters to help mitigate legal and regulatory risk and support the company’s strategic initiatives. The Associate General Counsel is expected to demonstrate sharp analytical skills, excellent legal and business judgment and directly collaborate with stakeholders to devise creative solutions.
The Associate General Counsel will be assigned to the Greater Toronto Area with a hybrid set up.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to various business units within the company on a range of issues, including new product launches, regulatory compliance and contracts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and agreements.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage litigation, as necessary.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues affecting the business and summarize findings.
- Effectively manage and oversee the work of outside counsel to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
