Baycrest, a global leader in geriatric healthcare, research, innovation and education is excited to participate in the NGG program and support new nurses’ transition into practice! We are an academic health sciences centre providing a continuum of care for older adults.
Our 262-bed, post-acute care hospital with a focus on complex continuing care, rehabilitation therapy and specialized geriatrics is seeking recently graduated Registered Practical Nurses to join our Nursing Resource Team .
The Nursing Resource Team provides excellent specialized geriatric care across all programs in the Hospital including rehabilitation, complex continuing care, palliative care, in-patient psychiatry, behavioural neurology, and transitional care. NRT offers a dynamic opportunity to practice and hone both clinical and organizational skills across a number of different care settings, whilesupporting the broader needs and demands of the organization. This opportunity is ideal for motivated, adaptable critical thinkers, who are passionate about geriatric care. Our NRT staff are well known and respected for their role within the Hospital community.
About the Program :
The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program is funded by the ministry and supports new Registered Practical Nurses who are within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) by providing them with a temporary full-time employment opportunity, above staffing complement, to improve their transition into practice, and into full-time employment.
The NGG program aims to :
- Support new nurses in Ontario as they transition into practice;
- Improve the integration of new nurses into the workforce;
- Promote the availability of full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours for new nurses; and
- Promote health workforce planning at the organizational level.
Eligibility to Participate :
Participation in the NGG program is open to nurses within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
