The Business Development Manager (BDM) - Food Service / QSR is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the food service and quick service restaurant (QSR) sectors. This role involves building strong relationships with key stakeholders, understanding market trends, and driving new sales growth through strategic planning and execution. The BDM will play a critical role in expanding the company’s market presence and achieving sales targets. A BDM should have a ‘hunter mentality’, be entrepreneurial, ambitious, and dynamic, and have the drive to succeed while looking to build a long-term career.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and assess market trends
- Analyze competitors and industry developments to stay informed about market conditions
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the Food Service and QSR sectors
- Establish relationships and secure contracts directly with new suppliers and customers
- Drive the entire sales cycle from initial customer engagement to a closed sale
- Prospect for new customers and qualify against company criteria
- Consult with prospect about business challenges and requirements
- Achieve assigned sales quotas and targets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to customer’s senior decision-makers
- Draft and deliver proposals
- Prepare costing analysis and suggested selling prices
- Work with technical and product specialists where required to address customer requirements
- Collaborate with the product development team to tailor offerings to meet client needs
- Coordinate with the operations team to ensure seamless delivery and service to clients
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity
