Location : Guelph – Cambridge, ON area

Salary : $28 - $32 / hr. ; benefits starting first day of employment

Permanent Full time, On site at the manufacturing site 5 days a week

Our client is a leading custom fabricator of metal fabricated parts and have a job open for Welding Inspector in the Guelph – Cambridge, ON area . Candidates must be specialist in Welding Inspection Process– codes, standards, NDT, CWB, ASME GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SMAW and similar. Clear criminal check is required. This is a Afternoon shift job.

Welding Inspector is a hands-on role working closely with Quality and Engineering to improve the weld and the welding processes. You will be responsible for conducting regular routine inspections on materials used, welding inspection, non-destructive testing, dimensional inspection, QA / QC documentation, WPS / WQT preparation, and technical specifications documentation creation. You will be familiar with instruments to conduct parts inspections on fabricated parts and check WPS to ensure compliance under ASME and CWB. You will provide technical guidance to all welders to ensure welding parameters are being followed, conduct Root Cause Analysis to investigate deviations and implement corrective actions.

Welding Process Engineer will ideally have 2 years’ experience as weld inspector under CWB ( MUST have ) and ASME . CWB and ASME bot h are required. Comprehensive knowledge of standard inspection methodologies and practices under ASME, AWS and CWB. NDT testing is preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and conduct first article inspections, Proficient knowledge of fundamentals, principles, and management of quality functions Experience working in an ISO 9001 : 2015 quality management system-integrated company. minimum 2-3 years’ experience as welding inspector ; proven work experience of writing welding instructions Diploma as Welding Technologist, degree in Welding Engineering or similar are highly preferred. CWB, ASME level 2 highly preferred, established experience in improving welding processes including bending cutting forming and writing welding procedures. Excellent English communication skills are a MUST .Clear Criminal check is required.
