With this acquisition, Saint-Gobain takes a logical step to reinforce its leadership in light and sustainable construction in the Canadian market. With Building Products of Canada, Saint-Gobain will be well positioned to better serve Canadian customers, to whom it will bring a broader innovative and sustainable range of solutions.

In support of this acquisition, BUILDING PRODUCTS OF CANADA CORP. has an exciting career opportunity for an Office Administrator / Distribution for our Edmonton , Alberta location.

Schedule :

  • Monday to Friday 7 : 30am-4pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES :

  • Takes care of Plant reception (orientation and plant rules) for visitors and truck drivers;
  • Work closely with Order Desk personnel in Montreal to define shipping requirements and delivery specifications; prioritize all requests according to customer needs;
  • Plan delivery and pick up schedules;
  • Communicate with customers and various carriers for effective product delivery;
  • Arrange shipments by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating delivery requirements; placing and expediting orders;
  • Coordinate shipments with forklift operators to ensure accurate and efficient loads;
  • Check-in drivers and processing BOLS (bills of lading), customs, reconciling quantities and notes discrepancies;
  • Schedule and manage inbound deliveries to plant and off site warehouse;
  • Keeps internal and external customers informed by forwarding notice of item availability, shipment date, method, current status and answering questions;
  • Ensures company and carrier information is kept confidential;
  • Takes care of the Data entry for the received goods and production entries
  • Handles Cycle counts of raw materials;
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities;
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests;
  • Explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a Office administrator role / Distribution (or equivalent);
  • High School Diploma;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment;
  • Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail (data entry);
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills ;
  • Demonstrated Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint competence;
  • Above average organizational and strategic planning skills;
  • Willingness to collaborate, communicate and take direction on an ongoing basis.
