Our Division & Communities
Foothills School Division (FSD) serves the learning needs of approximately 8000 students from preschool to grade 12. We operate 22 public schools, an online digital school, an alternative campus, and three colony schools. These are located in the towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley, and the communities of Blackie, Cayley, Heritage Heights, Red Deer Lake, Longview, Millarville and Foothills County.

The Role
This position is part of the regional supports program that will be at Westmount school for the 2026-2027 school year. These supports will be focused on supporting students with complex medical needs.
The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of students' individualized support plans and related documentation for our students in grades 1-12. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the development and delivery of the K&E programming for students in grades 10-12, both in person and online. The CALM curriculum will also be part of the teaching assignment. General course design support for the teaching team will be expected.
Experience in the following areas would be considered an asset:
•understanding complex medical diagnosis
• working with a team including the family, medical professionals as well as the Westmount teaching staff
• developing and implementing medical plans, ILPs and emergency response protocols, as well as coordinating therapeutic supports as determined by the medical professionals
The Candidate
As a member of a highly motivated team and student-centered educator, you are prepared to collaborate with colleagues in a Professional Learning Community. Your teaching practice includes the ability to design and plan learning activities that transfer, and develop thinking competencies. Further, your practice assesses individual student variables to inform the design of meaningful and experiential learning opportunities and effective assessment practice.
Your ability to foster effective professional relationships with student, families, staff and community is critical. You demonstrate a willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities and support students in the whole school experience that characterizes effective schools. Your capacity to integrate technologies and and support experiential learning that connects students to community resources within Maker-centered learning, CTF and CTS learning environments is evident .
