A Sr. Behaviour Interventionist (BI) / Sr. Behaviour Therapist (BT) is primarily responsible for implementing Applied Behaviour Analysis interventions for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder, other learning and developmental delays, and / or maladaptive behaviour. The role of the Sr. BI / BT is to execute intervention plans developed and supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst® for clients in the care of Monarch House. The Sr. BI / BT may work within an interdisciplinary team to help improve functional status or decrease maladaptive behaviors while providing an engaging and positive client experience in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment. Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8 : 45AM - 7PM Work Setting : Clinic-based Salary : $23-$25 / hr Take an inside look at what you will do each day Responsible for implementing treatment plans based on best practices. Uses systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support clients in changing their behaviour. Contributes to the development of ABA programs established by the BCBA to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and youth in a 1 : 1 and / or small group setting. Understands the functions of behavior and responds appropriately and safely when situations arise. Adheres to all ABA training, procedures, and protocols. Ability to adapt to changing conditions and / or routines and provide creative solutions. Responsible for creating a positive and engaging environment for the client. Responsible for maintaining the well-being and safety of the client while under their care. Responsible for tracking client progress through the collection of data and graphing while keeping clients engaged. Assists in conducting baseline measurements and other indirect measures as instructed by the Lead Therapist / BCaBA / BCBA. Responsible for completing incident reports in Microsoft Teams as per regional requirements within 24 hours of an incident. Prepares teaching materials and organizes the teaching environment. Documents / records exceptional circumstances, completes ABC logs, and tracks multiple behaviors. Organizes and maintains program binders for each client to include documentation, data collection, and individual files. Maintains workspace organization and cleanliness. Responsible for completing indirect work under the direction of the clinician in the appropriate time allotted and within the expected framework. Here is what you will need to be successful Minimum 2 years of experience as a Behaviour Interventionist experience doing ABA, working with a range of children, including those who are non-vocal, and individuals with challenging behavior. Education and demonstrated ability in ethical and professional practice Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children and youth with complex needs and / or developmental disabilities will be considered an asset. Enrollment in or degree from a post-secondary program of Psychology, Educational Psychology, Special Education, or another related field is an asset. Autism Spectrum Disorder-specific coursework, training, or workshops an asset. Experience working with clients who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities. Interest in pursuing RBT, BCBA, or BCaBA certification.
