Automation Engineer

Overview

Formaum builds automation systems that eliminate repetitive work for service businesses - lead follow-ups, client intake, CRM updates, and document workflows. We use tools like n8n, Airtable, and AI (Claude, GPT) to create systems that run reliably without constant oversight. Our clients range from clinics to agencies to SaaS founders. Role Description

This is a part-time, hybrid role based in Victoria, BC, for an Automation Engineer. You\'ll work alongside me to build and maintain client automation systems - designing workflows in n8n, integrating APIs, setting up AI-powered processes, and troubleshooting when things break.

Responsibilities include building automations from specs, testing edge cases, documenting systems for client handoff, and suggesting improvements.

The ideal candidate thinks in systems, learns tools quickly, and communicates clearly about technical work.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in no-code / low-code automation tools (n8n, Make, Zapier) and API integrations
• Experience with AI / LLM integration (prompt engineering, function calling, RAG basics)
• Strong troubleshooting skills - can debug a broken webhook or failed API call independently
• Comfortable with Airtable, Google Sheets, CRMs, and common SaaS tools
• Clear written communication for documentation and client-facing summaries
• Self-directed and reliable for async / remote work
• Background in business operations, marketing tech, or software development preferred
