What you’ll do :

  • Oversee, plan, and manage daily operations of the department to meet brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery objectives.
  • Provide leadership to the team through recruitment and selection, training and development, and performance appraisal and management, including taking disciplinary action when required.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to Co-op standards regarding merchandising, signage, team member appearance, housekeeping, health and safety, and loss prevention.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes a strong culture of engagement within the department.
  • Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, controlling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.

The team : You will oversee a team of eight meat cutters and meat clerks, and report to the Food Store Manager.

Who you are :

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and :

  • Have a Grade 12 Diploma.
  • Have 3+ years of leadership experience. Previous retail management or meat cutting experience considered an asset (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Have an ability to handle multiple demands and can be adaptable, organized, and efficient.
  • Are customer service-focused and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Are honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • Believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
  • Physically capable of performing the necessary requirements of the role.
