Mask Fit Tester
Description : Terms : Part-time up to 40 hours / week
Hot Zone Training Consultants Inc., a subsidiary of Fanshawe College, provides occupational health and safety training through a variety of essential courses.
Our training will help clients achieve their compliance with Provincial or Federal health and safety regulations.
Role :
The fit tester shall be competent in the applicable fit test methods and be able to verify a user's ability to obtain an effective respirator seal, comfort, and fit for a tight-fitting respirator.
The fit tester shall also be able to manage the overall fit testing process, including the transition between sensitivity screening and fit testing where applicable, interpret the results, and document user, respirator, and instrument performance.
Responsibilities :
The fit tester shall follow the protocols identified in the respiratory protection program and shall :
a)apply program requirements regarding interference concerns
b) verify that the user is trained and competent in respirator inspection, donning, performing seal checks, and doffing
c) conduct fit tests to verify the user's ability to obtain an acceptable fit and an effective respirator seal
d) document individual's user's competency and corresponding fit test results
e) ensure the proper cleaning and sanitizing of fit testing equipment and respirators used for fit testing
f) ensure and document the maintenance, calibration, and repair of fit test equipment and
g) notify the program administrator of respirator users' concerns
Experience :
- No experience required; however, health care or health and safety background is preferred.
