Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm, and our Staffing practice is looking for a Manual QA, to place at our client, a Commercial Real Estate Firm.

Estimated Start Date : June 10th 2024

Length of Contract : 6 months, possibility to extend

Working Location : Fully Remote out of Canada, must work EST Time Zone, 9-5

Working Hours : 37.5 hours per week

Project : Customer 360 Initiative, linking existing work with latest technology for end user experience

We are looking for a QA Analyst to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. This includes designing and implementing tests, debugging, and assisting the development team in defining corrective actions.

The QA Analyst will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics.

The QA Analyst must monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to exceed quality standards.

Job Description

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a quantitative field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, or Data Science or Certification in Data Science
• 5+ years of experience working as a Quality Assurance analyst or in a related field.
• Proven work experience in software development
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Firsthand experience with both white box and black box testing
• Create and maintain Test Cases and Defects
• Firsthand experience with automated testing tools
• Solid knowledge of SQL, scripting, and data analysis
• Ability to articulate and navigate testing cycle
• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum development process. Specifically testing facilitation and execution in an agile environment

Bonus skills and experience :

• Experience in Commercial Real Estate
• Experience with performance and / or security testing is a plus.
• Experience working in Azure DevOps to create and maintain Test Cases and Defects

What success looks like :

• Creating and managing test strategy documents to define Software Testing Approach to achieve testing objectives.
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents with the project team to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Confident in your ability to estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
• Perform a walkthrough of the test cases / test suites created with development team, BA, Business success team.
• Proactively create reports on testing status and communicate to team and leadership.
• Able to design, develop and execute automation scripts.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
• Chair and manage QA defect triage sessions with the project team.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Liaise / collaborate with internal teams (e.g., developers, team leads, business analysts) to identify system requirements.
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
• Leveraging testing tools and test strategies to ensure software quality.
