Responsibilities

In this General Accountant role in Mississauga, you will be responsible for the following :

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and payment processing.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations.
• Track and analyze logistics and operational costs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support pricing and cost estimation processes for new and existing contracts.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure timely filing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax regulations affecting the logistics industry.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.

Qualifications

We are looking for the following for this General Accountant role located in Mississauga :

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function
• A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting.
• Experience working with common accounting systems / ERPs is a requirement.
• Strong reconciliation experience is a requirement.
