The Sr. Medical Educational Manager supports the strategic and tactical execution of the Professional Training and Education programs for the Orthopedics business in Canada.

Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Orthopaedics education landscape, has an ability to think critically, and excellent judgment.

Outstanding organizational and communication skills and the ability to manage projects through the entire project life cycle.

Proactively and independently seek solutions to issues and make recommendations for improvement. The Sr. Medical Educational Manager is responsible for : identify need for Medical Education and utilization of existing and / or new resources for HCP programs.

Plans and collaborate in the execution of educational initiatives. Prepare and manage budget to align with business needs.

Lead measurement of training effectiveness and adoption.

What will you be doing?

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the orthopaedic education landscape : trends, customer priorities, and competition.

Complete annual needs assessment to identify need for Medical Education and utilization of existing and / or new resources for HCP programs.

Prepares and manages budgets accordingly.

Drives innovation in learning delivery based on adult education principles and best practices and research.

Provide clinical and educational leadership for focus product / market area.

Plan industry educational meetings and events, on-site customer meetings and labs and other strategic meetings

Cultivates relationships with key customers and commercial stakeholders.

Work closely with HCP faculty and internal stakeholders, to implement high-quality, educational events that drive learning in key focus areas of the business.

Establishes program attendee profile and learning objectives to communicate these with the Sales Organization and reinforces criteria during enrollment to lead to an effective program.

Supports grants process for societies and fellowship events and collaborates with business marketing and regional sales to identify faculty for symposia & labs.

Assess external changes in the evidence and marketplace to successfully identify clinical practice gaps and opportunities for improvement to be met by new Medical Education programs, put forward appropriate recommendations that will help drive customer excellence.

Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with nationally and internationally recognized key opinion leaders (KOL’s), HCP Societies and other knowledge experts within the medical / healthcare communities to keep abreast of current and future trends and to identify future KOL’s / faculty.

Exhibits professionalism with Senior Leadership, marketing peers, and all other internal and external customers.

Communicates effectively and professionally regarding portfolio performance and recommendations of business strategies with Senior Leadership Team, cross functionally and cross business.

What will you need to be successful?

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communication or business-related field.

Project Management is a plus.

Language : English

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft O365, particularly on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams

3-5+ years experience in sales, marketing, medical education and or training strongly preferred. Experience in the medical device (joint replacement) or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
