DUTIES
& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides advising services to the engineering students, including engineering transfer and BEng programs.
- Maintains the accuracy and completeness of curriculum documentation.
- Ensures that approved academic curriculum changes are up to date and communicate changes to faculty, students, college and university transfer programs, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain reports on curriculum development and approval process for the department.
- Assists department Chair in managing course scheduling and timetabling.
- Manages articulation agreements with other institutions.
- Performs initial assessment for transfer credits of the transferring students.
- Coordinate with TRU’s Co-op Coordinator to ensure 4th year students have met the requirements for their mandatory Co-op year and others students are prepping for their mandatory Co-op terms.
- Coordinate and maintain record of the development of successful accreditation standards and processes for the engineering degree programs.
- Communicate with faculty members about program assessment plans and define organizational practices to implement evaluation tools for accreditation.
- Works in conjunction with course instructors to develop program assessment tools to ensure alignment with program goals and CEAB accreditation guidelines.
- Writes and prepare program accreditation documents for the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board’s (CEAB) review and visit.
- Ensure appropriate processes, and documentation for CEAB accreditation and other external and internal reviews, are in place.
- Extracts, manage and store data from a wide range of internal and external sources, compiling and analyzing data, and performing statistical analyses of data for CEAB accreditation purposes.
- Coordinates the accreditation review processes and document requirements by reviewing information, soliciting content from faculty members from various departments within Faculty of Science offering engineering courses and verifying its accuracy.
- Coordinates the CEAB Accreditation Team visits.
- Community outreach and visiting high schools to promote the program.
- Prepare and coordinate communication with school counselors.
- Coordinate with marketing and communication to ensure that programs have up-to-date promotional materials.
- Coordinate with admissions to ensure that students’ applications are evaluated timely by the department admission committee.
- Communicate with potential applicants and provide information as and when required.
- Assists in arranging promotional events in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION :
Undergraduate degree preferably in relevant discipline or in EducationEXPERIENCE :
Three years of related experience with demonstrated experience in educational planning, quality assurance and program accreditationSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES RELATED TO THE JOB
Familiarity with the educational system at the post-secondary levelsFamiliarity with accreditation processes and program evaluationsFamiliarity with Degree Quality Assurance processes and proceduresExperience-working with students to advise them about professional accreditation related adviceExcellent interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity are essentialMust be tactful and articulate in dealing with faculty, staff and students in a multi-cultural contextDemonstrated ability to work independently and with initiative - must be a self-starterExceptional oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skillsAbility to make thoughtful, informed, and thorough decisionsAbility to analyze problems, identify key information and issues and propose effective solutionsExcellent computer skills and willingness to learn to use new systemsWORKING CONDITIONS
