About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a growing Structural Forensics and Building Assessment team. In this role, you will conduct field investigations on damaged buildings and structures, perform structural analysis and design, and develop detailed technical reports, repair scopes, and engineering drawings. This position blends hands‑on field work with technical design and reporting and is ideal for engineers who enjoy variety, autonomy, and problem‑solving.
What You’ll Do
Technical Responsibilities
- Interpret field notes, data, and site documentation to develop structural repair or reconstruction drawings.
- Prepare detailed technical reports , scopes of repair, and formal engineering documents required for building permits.
- Conduct structural analysis and design of members, components, and connections.
- Review applicable building codes and industry standards to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Produce high‑quality engineering drawings and design details.
- Utilize tools including MS Office, Monday.com, Ajera , and technical software such as AutoCAD, Revit, WoodWorks, and BlueBeam .
Field Work
Conduct on‑site examinations of damaged buildings and structural components.Perform general field reviews during construction and design phases.Document site evidence through photographs, sketches, notes, and measurements.Verify field measurements and ensure construction aligns with drawings, specifications, and permit requirements.Communication & Project Management
Prepare project budgets and client proposals.Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client requirements.Liaise with contractors, consultants, municipal representatives, and other stakeholders.Participate in internal quality control through peer review of reports and drawings.Occasionally support marketing initiatives, including presentations to clients.What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering , or equivalent.5+ years of experience in structural engineering, design, and construction.Registered P.Eng. in good standing (EGBC or eligible).Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.Proficiency with AutoCAD and / or Revit , and strong knowledge of the BC Building Code and relevant CSA standards (especially CSA O86).Strong competency with Microsoft Office and general engineering software tools.Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
