Contribute to large-scale, high-profile infrastructure projects across Ontario

Manage and coordinate subject experts in multiple disciplines in a collaborative environment

As an Environmental Project Manager , you will join our Guelph or Mississauga, Ontario office as part of ourAlternative Delivery Servicesteam.

The successful applicant will be a key contributor to Matrix’s growing portfolio of environmental services for large infrastructure projects through project execution.

In this dynamic role, the Environmental Project Manager will be collaborating with internal and external subject experts to successfully meet the growing needs for environmental compliance on impactful projects across the province :

Manage day to day schedule,scope, and budget on a variety of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects

Prioritize health and safety in all aspects of projects

Provide technical support and contribute to projects in your field of expertise

Coordinate staff with internal project team across disciplines, including engineers, hydrogeologists, and ecologists

Run and host internal and external facing project meetings and attend site meetings

Coordinate and manage subconsultants and subcontractors such as drilling and geotechnical firms

Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients and subconsultant partners

Identify, and track deliverables and environmental deficiencies on projects

Prepare and / or review technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates for multi-disciplinary projects

Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff members

What We Are Looking For

5+ years of project management experience in consulting in the environmental field in Ontario

Proven project management skills, including developing and monitoring of budgets, approved project scope and schedule, organizational skills, staff supervision and team communications.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental planning, engineering, urban planning, geography, environmental science, or a related field

Ability to work on various projects in various sectors urban, transportation, infrastructure, oil and gas, wind and hydropower).

Experience working with transportation and municipal infrastructure planning and construction projects

Experience engaging with stakeholders including First Nations, municipal governments, conservation authorities and the private sector

Experience supporting or preparing cost estimates and proposals

Valid G class driver’s license is required.

The following would be considered an asset :

Experience working with Metrolinx or MTO projects.

Knowledge and working experience with regulatory requirements such Municipal Class EA process and the Canadian Impact Assessment Act

Technical background in planning, ecology, excess soil management or engineering
