Based in Iqaluit, NU, and reporting to the Manager, Solutions Delivery, you will be responsible for the installation, testing and administration of all related data and voice telecommunication hardware, software and protocols within the Solutions Delivery network environment. This will include Wide Area Network (WAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) voice, wireless, switching, routing and related protocols.

As a Network Analyst, you will ensure the stable operation of the GN’s Information Communication Technology hardware and software assets within the Solutions Delivery network environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your profile as a qualified Network Analyst will include the following highlights:

  • A recognized three (3)-year diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related engineering program.
  • Five (5) years of recent, progressive experience in a large (over 750 devices) complex enterprise-wide WAN/MAN/LAN routing/switching network with diverse solutions from multiple vendors.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the design, installation, configuration and support of network routing/switching equipment and their related protocols.
  • Current vendor certifications such as Cisco, Mitel, F5, Juniper Networks and Riverbeds.
  • Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position. We encourage you to apply if you have equivalent years of education and/or experience equal to the education and experience requirements listed above.


ASSETS:

  • Proven experience in project and contract administration within an enterprise-level IM/ICT environment.
  • Exposure to satellite network communications.
  • Fluency in Inuktitut, one of Nunavut’s official languages (i.e., Inuktut, English and French).
  • Knowledge of the Inuit communities, culture and land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, and Inuktut.
  • Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.


NOTE:

  • This is a Position of Trust and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.


Compensation & benefits:
This indeterminate position is included in the Nunavut Employees Union and offers a salary range of $97,372 to $110,510 per year (for 37.5 hours/week), plus a Northern Allowance of $16,008 per year. Note: Subsidized staff housing is available.

Basé à Iqaluit, NU, et relevant du ou de la gestionnaire, Prestation de solutions, vous serez responsable de l’installation, des tests et de l’administration de l’ensemble du matériel, des logiciels et des protocoles de télécommunication par voix ou données dans l’environnement du réseau de prestation de solutions. Cela comprendra le réseau étendu (WAN), le réseau métropolitain (MAN) et le réseau local (LAN), la voix, le sans-fil, la commutation, le routage et les protocoles connexes. En tant qu’analyste de réseau, vous assurerez le fonctionnement stable des actifs matériels et logiciels de technologie de l’information et des communications du GN dans l’environnement du réseau de prestation de solutions.

EXIGENCES

Votre profil, en tant qu’analyste de réseau compétent, comprendra notamment :
  • Un diplôme reconnu de trois (3) ans d’études en informatique, en technologies de l’information ou dans un programme de génie connexe.
  • Cinq (5) ans d’expérience récente et progressive au sein d’une grande entreprise (plus de 750 appareils) possédant un ensemble complexe de routage et de commutation de réseaux étendus, métropolitains et locaux faisant intervenir diverses solutions provenant de multiples fournisseurs.
  • Cinq (5) ans d’expérience démontrée en conception, en installation, en configuration et en soutien d’équipements de routage/commutation de réseau et de leurs protocoles connexes.
  • Les certifications à jour des fournisseurs comme Cisco, Mitel, F5, Juniper Networks et Riverbeds.
  • Une combinaison acceptable d’études et d’expérience pourrait être prise en compte pour ce poste. Nous vous encourageons à postuler si vous possédez un bagage d’études ou d’expérience équivalent à la qualification ci-dessus décrite.


ATOUTS :

  • Une expérience démontrée en administration de projets et de contrats dans un environnement de GI/TIC à l’échelle de l’entreprise.
  • Une certaine connaissance des communications par réseau satellitaire.
  • La maitrise de l’inuktitut, l’une des langues officielles du Nunavut (soit l’inuktut, l’anglais et le français).
  • La connaissance des collectivités, de la culture et du territoire inuits ainsi que de l’Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit et de l’inuktut.
  • Une expérience de travail en milieu interculturel nordique.

Rémunération et avantages :
Ce poste permanent est régi par la convention du Syndicat des employés du Nunavut et offre une échelle salariale allant de 97 372 $ jusqu’à 110 510 $ par année (pour 37,5 heures/semaine), en plus d’une indemnité de vie dans le Nord de 16 008 $ par année. Nota : Un logement du personnel subventionné est prévu pour ce poste.
