Shift : Mon - Fri - 6 : 00 am – 3 : 00 pm. (Ability to work overtime or at flexible times is required)

What You Will Be Doing

  • Manage the responsible area (all shifts), ensuring all aspects of production, food safety, and quality are met.
  • Ensure all aspects of the operation are followed and enforced (e.g., safety, quality, yield, union issues, HACCP, BRC, etc.) on a daily basis, and that all supervisors follow established guidelines and expectations on productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure all plant expectations are met.
  • Ensure that all products manufactured in the department meet company and customer requirements.
  • Participate in or assign employees when new products are developed, and during plant trials.
  • Provide overall management of a team or business area, including indirect management of individuals through subordinate supervisors or managers.
  • Establish goals and priorities, manage the activities and work of subordinates, and evaluate their performance by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure efficient work within a specific area.
  • Develop team capabilities through continuous on‑the‑job and formal training opportunities and coaching.
  • Monitor operational performance of the area of responsibility against approved labor variance targets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are acted upon.
  • What You Will Bring

  • Minimum three years of supervisory / management experience in a food manufacturing industry, preferably meat, in a unionized environment.
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, and food quality.
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, and other workplace H&S regulations.
  • Analytical skills, with problem‑identification and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work or excel in a fast‑paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi‑tasking is essential.
  • General computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
  • Post‑secondary diploma in a related field required.
