Venor is proud to partner with our client, Natural Forces Solar, in their search for a Director of Operations to join their growing team.

Natural Forces Solar is a dynamic engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance company in the renewable energy sector.

Based in Dartmouth, NS, Natural Forces Solar provides innovative, robust, and cost-effective renewable energy systems to clients across Canada.

Reporting to the President, the Director of Operations will oversee all aspects of our company’s operations, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of solar projects.

This role requires a strong background in operations management, within the construction sector. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, operations management skills, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Operational Management :
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Support the team, including project managers, engineers, and field technicians.
  • Project Support :
  • Monitor project performance, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and procurement teams to align project goals and objectives.
  • Process Improvement :
  • Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize project workflows and resource allocation.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track operational performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Financial Management :
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost control and financial accountability.
  • Analyze financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency gains.
  • Support the financial planning and analysis process, providing insights and recommendations for operational investments.
  • Compliance and Safety :
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all operational activities.
  • Oversee the implementation of safety programs and training for staff.

Your Profile :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in the renewable energy or construction industry.
  • Strong teamwork skills, particularly in multi-disciplinary technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
