About the Opportunity
The Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in a care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities.
Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis.
Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques to assist the patient in regaining and / or maintaining an optimal level of function.
The physiotherapist educated and communicated with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and patient management.
The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.
The physiotherapist reports to a Health Services Manager and as a member of a clinical team, the physiotherapist collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, and solves problems and shares responsibilities.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Master's or Bachelor's degree, in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
- Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
- Computer skills (statistics input, word processing)
- Annual Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation certification (BCLS)
- Annual Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training and certification. (WHMIS)
- Physiotherapy is a diverse profession requiring additional courses / education / training in many specialized areas or practice, e.
g. cardio-respiratory techniques, acupuncture, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
- Permanent Fulltime, (%), 75 Hours Bi-weekly
- Shifts include weekends in a rotational schedule.
- Some travel between sites may be required.
Compensation and Incentives
$33.97 - $42.89 Hourly
