You will work independently, lead complex service calls, and support the development of junior technicians while ensuring full compliance with provincial codes, safety standards, and Technical Safety Nova Scotia (TSNS) regulations.
What You’ll Do Install, service, and maintain propane appliances, piping systems, and storage equipment in residential and commercial settings Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a variety of propane-fired heating equipment Lead installation and service calls, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to customer satisfaction Support and mentor junior or apprenticing technicians as required Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency service support outside of regular business hours Conduct site-specific hazard assessments and follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements Identify and communicate potential sales or upgrade opportunities during service calls Deliver exceptional customer service by clearly explaining repairs, recommendations, and system operation Complete all required documentation, reports, and work orders accurately and on time Perform regular vehicle inspections and maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe, and professional condition Represent Avenir Energy with professionalism while upholding the highest standards of safety and service What You Bring Valid Gasfitter A Certificate (Nova Scotia) – required Strong working knowledge of propane systems, appliances, and installation practices Thorough understanding of applicable codes, regulations, and TSNS requirements Proven experience working independently in a customer-facing service role Commitment to workplace health and safety standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record Class 3 driver’s license is considered an asset Ability to participate in an on-call rotation Previous experience in a propane or gas service technician role is considered an asset Avenir Energy is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible hiring process.
