Synopsis

ACA is located in Airdrie, just north of Calgary. For over 35 years Airdrie Christian Academy (ACA) has been blessed with staff who are part of the ACA family.

Our mission and vision is to not only educate our students in the world of academics but to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes which will enable them to successfully fulfill God's calling on their lives.

The Secondary Principal will coordinate administrative oversight and plan all phases of instructional leadership for ACA’s full-time junior and senior high schools, including teacher supervision, educational programming, administration, budgetary planning, discipline, and student support services.

The principal will also liaise with their division members, the Head of the School, stakeholders, and the Board. This role includes teaching some courses in our Junior High School throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • Education Degree : preference is given to those with secondary grades training and 5+ years of teaching experience
  • Valid Alberta Teachers Certificate
  • Valid Alberta LQS, or willingness to pursue this qualification within one year
  • Exceptional leadership, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Alignment with our mission and vision
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Understanding of current educational trends and best practices
  • Must have a police record check with vulnerability screening on file before starting employment

Accountability

  • Reports directly to the ACA Head of School
  • Operates as a member of the Executive Leadership Team
  • Provides effective feedback to the Head of School
  • Will be evaluated annually by the Head of School

  • Team advocate to Head of School
  • Divisional Culture Oversight
  • Divisional Budget Oversight
  • Part-time Classroom Instruction

Compensation : Teaching Salary will be based on years of Teaching Experience and Education. In addition to grid determined teaching salary, you will receive a Principal Stipend.

Start Date : Early January 2025
