About Brockville General Hospital

Located in the heart of the Thousand Islands region, Brockville General Hospital provides a close-knit, collaborative work environment where you can make an impact on the lives of those we serve.

Through teamwork, partnership, and the support of our community, we are known for local access to care, building modern diagnostic, surgical and healing spaces to address the challenges facing our healthcare system.

As a result, we proudly offer a range of services to deliver quality, compassionate care to the 100,500 people living within our catchment area.

Brockville General is the largest employer in Leeds Grenville. Our team consists of 1,050 staff, 160 physicians, 200 volunteers and 500 students annually.

We offer meaningful career opportunities, along with the tools and the means to become a vital member of a vibrant community, all with little commute time.

With a budget exceeding $120 million and strong working relationships with local and regional partners, our hospital has a strong foundation to fulfil our vision of achieving excellence together.

Join Brockville General as our Chief of Staff (minimum 0.50 FTE basis) and be a part of our team growing and transforming healthcare across our community and region.

Reporting to the Chair of the Board of Directors, you will play a key strategic and operational leadership role in advancing and supporting Brockville General’s mission and vision.

Working closely with the senior leadership team and Medical Advisory Committee, you will ensure quality medical services are delivered and managed effectively and consistent with the Hospital’s by-laws, strategic and operational priorities.

With an eye to the future and an understanding of healthcare’s fast-changing environment and its associated risks, opportunities, and trends, you will ensure that Brockville General remains responsive, innovative, and ready to meet the future healthcare needs of our community.

At the senior management and board tables, you will provide colleagues and directors with the counsel, information and support they need to make sound corporate decisions on a range of topics, from medical program compliance with standards of practice to risk mitigation and growth.

As the ideal candidate, you are a respected physician leader licensed to practice medicine in the province of Ontario, with a track record of success providing strategic medical administration counsel at the executive and Board tables.

You are described by your peers and colleagues as a self-motivated, innovative thinker who challenges the status quo with the goal of delivering high-quality, innovative medical services.

A confident and competent team builder, you have strong communication and interpersonal skills and a track record of establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders at the local, regional, and provincial levels.

Your leadership expertise across a broad and varied portfolio of medical programs is critical to your success in this role, as is your ability to effectively lead a Medical Advisory Committee and oversee the work of the standing committees.

Your team oriented and collaborative, professional approach will serve you well, as will your ability to lead, coach and mentor a team of professionals in the development and compliance of standard medical policies, directives, protocols, care plans and practices.

Brockville General Hospital values the diversity of the people and communities we serve and is strongly committed to attracting, engaging, and developing a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Brockville General Hospital welcomes all applicants including members of racialized groups, Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, persons of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities and all others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas.

In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, and the Ontario Human Rights Code, Brockville General Hospital will provide accommodations through the recruitment process to applicants with disabilities.

Thank all applicants for their interest, however only those under consideration for the role will be contacted.
