Building Operator

What will you do?

Simply put, you will be responsible for maintenance and building operations. Below are some of the primary responsibilities that entails; we’ll discuss the others in person:

• Carry out and/or Supervise preventative maintenance and regular inspections on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and life safety systems;
• Respond and follow up on tenant service calls such as roof leaks, heating/cooling calls etc. in a safe and professional manner;
• Oversee the appearance and safety of the properties;
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions/recommendations;
• Oversee contractors and ensure they abide by contract guidelines and project timelines;
• Respond to emergency after hours calls as required;
• Communicate with Property Management on building and tenant issues regularly;
• Maintain maintenance and daily logs of equipment including meter readings;
• Maintain keys and locks register

There are also some physical requirements associated with this job. Here are some of the fun things we’ll need you to confirm you can do:

• Bending, twisting, crouching, climbing and reaching
• Move and lift equipment and supplies
• A combination of walking, standing, sitting and driving. There won’t be too much sitting at all, so don’t worry about getting restless.

What type of experience do you have?

These are only some of the things we’d like you to bring to the table. We can cover the rest when we meet:

• Bilingual – proficient in French and English is a must
• You’ve gained your experience in a industrial/commercial/office/retail Real Estate environment
• You have a valid and clean Class 5 driver’s license
• You are familiar with safety and fire codes and CNESST procedures;
• Your computer and communications skills are above par
