Yard Labourer

About the Role

Amrize is recruiting a Labourer at our Kamloops BC grinding plant. Labourers are responsible for aiding in all areas of the plant, including housekeeping / cleaning, grounds maintenance, equipment and machinery operation, and other various tasks throughout the plant. A high level of safety practices must be used at all times.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments
• Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
• Remove rubble and other debris in the facility
• Operate basic equipment and machinery
• Complete Field Level Risk Assessments before beginning each task
• Actively participate in continuous improvement on safety initiatives
• Maintain good housekeeping in areas of responsibility
• Ensure that all field equipment is operating properly; identify and inform of any field problems
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors

What We’re Looking For

Education : High school Diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience : 1-2 years of industrial experience is preferred.

Required Training / Certifications : Drivers License and Abstract required.
