Seeking a Senior Manager, Human Resources with strong leadership and decision-making skills and the ability to perform in an environment of ambiguity and change.
As a seasoned professional, you'll be knowledgeable and influential in many of the key functional HR areas leading initiatives, and driving a culture of high performance, urgency and engagement.

Key Areas of Responsibility :
Relationships
- Establish strong business relationships with client leadership teams along with creating effective partnerships across HR, and throughout the business.
- Support and enable leaders to make informed decisions with respect to employee talent and support their organizations to be accountable in achieving business results.
- Provide day-to-day people leadership of HR team and create an environment that accelerates development of HR talent; apply rigorous knowledge management to capture learning, drive continuous improvement and best practices execution, and enhance employee engagement.
- Proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization and develop solutions in partnership with HR Senior Leadership Team.
- Offer advice and counsel in areas such as compensation, benefits, labour relations, employment law, organizational development, performance management, training, disability management, policy, and recruiting.
- Maintain an ongoing understanding of the Company’s operations, strategic plans, and the related Human Resources disciplines.
- Influence peers, and all levels of management up to and including executives.
Strategic Planning
- In partnership with the HR Leadership Team and the business participate in strategic planning and financial management to ensure that the Human Resource programs meet the business requirements of the organization in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.
- Seek strategic opportunities for ongoing improvement to the Human Resources functions to move from good to great, quickly take steps to implement or adapt the appropriate changes or enhancements with the end goal of having a high functioning team.
- Support Operations leadership and act as a strategic partner and consultant to position the organization to meet long term vision and strategy.
- Contribute to the development of HR strategies aligned with our organization’s goals.
Policy Development
Shape company policies related to employee benefits, performance management, and workplace conduct. Ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Design and implement company policies that foster a healthy work environment.
Employee Relations
Handle complex employee inquiries, mediate conflicts, and provide advice to both employees and managers. Build and maintain positive working relationships.
Performance Management
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on people-related matters while coaching and developing within the HR team to achieve business outcomes.
This may include providing advice on disciplinary actions, day to day coaching conversation as well as support with annual performance review cycle.
Implement change management practices to shift culture and drive changes in leadership behavior.
HR Technology Familiarity
- Well-versed in HR technology, including payroll systems and HR Information Systems, is essential.
- As part of the senior management team, lead key HR projects, both annual and new initiatives.
Vendor Management
Manage Vendor Relationships for HR programs, products and services.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a health-related field such as health sciences, or disability management.
- A CPHR with a minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience; or a combination of related education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience leading a high performing team.
- Strong analytical skills and communication skills
- Practical use of best HR best practice
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Experience working for a federally regulated employer (pay equity, employment equity etc.)
- Proven ability to negotiate and resolve people issues.
- Excellent PowerPoint, Word, and Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a work environment prone to periods of intensive activity with a constantly evolving client organization.
- Proven ability to build and sustain working relationships with all levels in the organization and outside stakeholders such as consultant and union organizations.
