This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

This is a 10-month parental coverage contract at the time of posting.

Meet Your Future Team :

Test Engineers at Arc’teryx are embedded in cross-functional Business Technology product teams, working in an Agile manner on product and project development. They are also part of an Engineering Guild, as members of the broader group of Test Engineers in the Arc’teryx Technology division.

If you were in the Lead Test Engineer now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing :

  • Leading test engineers by inspiring, mentoring, supporting, and training them
  • Understanding and communicating the risks associated with a product and its development
  • Developing a test strategy that guides testing for your team’s product or project
  • Owning and understanding the integration of your team’s technology product into the broader application infrastructure
  • Championing quality guidelines and standards (including Test Engineering best practices) and providing feedback to processes
  • Ensuring the timely and thorough testing of hard to test systems, including back end testing, white box testing, and developing tests that can be planned and executed outside of the GUI.
  • Writing automated regression tests for your assigned product, relying on the provided tooling and record / playback methods where applicable
  • Working with extreme independence and showing an expertise that inspires and guides those around you
  • Developing and maintaining test automation using the tools provided (including Tricentis Testim / TTA and Cypress)
  • Supporting the Test Engineering Guild in initiatives, undertaking work that elevates and supports the engineering practice at Arc’teryx

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future :

  • Helping other testers in the organization to become exceptional, and to exceed our expectations, and grow at Arc’teryx
  • Are you our next Lead Test Engineer?

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent in a related technical field
  • You have 10+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance
  • You have a proven track record of leadership, and enjoy the process and complexity of leading direct and indirect reports
  • You have experience leading teams, and mentoring colleagues
  • You have an expert level understanding of test strategy, and can share it with the organization, and help drive the test practice at Arc’teryx
  • You have experience selecting tools, developing practices, and driving organizational change in the test engineering space
  • You have tested major products that touch multiple teams and technologies, with complex integrations
  • You have mastery of testing techniques, and understand how to select the right method, approach, or tool to solve complex problems
  • You understand product and project risk, and how to communicate about risks to your team
  • You have experience with Tricentis test tools, particularly Testim, Tosca, and TTA
  • You can create and maintain tests in Cypress or similar automation frameworks
  • You have 2-5 years experience with Javascript, or equivalent
  • You have hands‑on experience with API, microservice integration, and backend testing
  • You have strong oral and written communication skills
  • You are driven and passionate about championing quality in all forms
  • You have experience working with Salesforce Service Cloud or Marketing Cloud, and the Salesforce application ecosystem.
  • You have experience working in the retail technology sector, in Ecomm or Point of Sale.
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
