Litigation Legal Assistant
Our client is currently recruiting for a Legal Assistant with litigation experience to join their Estates team in the Toronto, ON office .
This is an immediate opening offering a hybrid work model.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities :
- Preparing court documents, including but not limited to, application / motion materials, statements of claim / notices of action, mediation briefs, factums and book of authorities;
- Preparing affidavits of documents and organizing voluminous productions;
- Preparing cost outlines and bills of costs;
- Supporting file work by identifying, obtaining, and organizing documents from the clients and from other parties to the litigation;
- Drafting correspondence to clients, counsel and court;
- Providing input into the procedures and practices;
- Docketing time using case management software.
Core Experience & Skills :
- Minimum 2 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting; estate litigation is a plus;
- A Certificate or Diploma from a recognized College, legal assistant or law clerk program;
- Ability to perform under pressure, meet tight deadlines and handle multiple, yet sometimes conflicting, priorities;
- Proficiency in the use and application of MS Office, and Adobe;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Attention to detail;
- Team player, adaptable to a changing environment.
