TEEMA is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teachers to join our team for the 2024 / 2025 school year in Kent, Washington.
The ideal candidate will hold a valid State of Washington teaching license and possess a special education teaching endorsement.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
Pay is $55 / hr. Independent contractors are also eligible for this position at a higher rate.
Key Responsibilities :
Plan and implement effective and differentiated instructional strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and parents to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social-emotional growth.
Utilize assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
Provide support and accommodations to help students succeed in the general education curriculum.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child’s progress and achievements.
Qualifications :
Valid State of Washington teaching license.
Special education teaching endorsement.
Strong understanding of special education laws, policies, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with students with disabilities.
