Job descriptionElicit, analyze, validate, specify, verify, and manage the business needs (requirements) and ensure requirements traceability across the project life cycle Capture the ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ states (e.g., document business processes, workflows, rules etc.) Work with both the vendor(s) and the facilities on Transition to Operations Create Test Plan / Approach (including and not limited to testing approach, schedule, test cases / scenarios, resourcing requirements {including roles and responsibilities}, test acceptance criteria, and defect management) Testing may include but is not limited to Functional, Regression and User Acceptance Liaison and consult with vendor Build out Power BI reports based on ad-hoc requirements put forward by the client and stakeholders. Prove out and test out-of-the-box Power BI reports and enhance as required Build skill sets within each college to support and maintain BI reports post go-live. Work with vendor to migrate data from the legacy SIS. Analysis to define how the facilities use various types of fields in modules and populate look-up tables. Liaison with the government resources Establish and maintain regular communication pathway with client whose instance(s) are being worked on and elevate needs to vendor as required. Advocate for solutions as required in conjunction with facility. Support the collection of current state business processes with facility and assist in determining new business process flows. Defining technical requirements for modifications and work-arounds to vendor where the existing software lacks critical functionality. Defining and passing on enhancement requests to vendor to recommend future improvements which would support needs. Facilitating the collective definition of base reports and the necessary content required through liaising with government. Facilitating collective naming conventions for some data items. Ensuring that an evolving set of collective business rules around the SIS are defined and respected through each implementation to ensure a required level of consistency Negotiating and collecting data values which require collective input. Overseeing high-level data load strategy including volume of history to extract through legacy system and engage strategy to create the data file. Configuration of some system values, adding users for each facility. Clarification of testing vs production environment protocols for each implementation. Creation of some common user documentation including potential training documentation for the college sector. 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis and Technical Leadership roles. Skilled in eliciting, analyzing, validating, and managing business requirements across the full project lifecycle. Strong documentation capabilities for current (‘as-is’) and future (‘to-be’) state processes, workflows, and business rules. Experience bridging business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Proven ability to develop comprehensive test plans and approaches. Experience leading Functional, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Familiarity with defect management and acceptance criteria Comfortable liaising with vendors to coordinate testing and resolve issues. Hands-on experience building and customizing Power BI reports. Ability to test and enhance out-of-the-box reports. Skilled in training and mentoring teams to maintain BI reports post go-live. Experience migrating data from legacy systems. Strong analytical skills to interpret field usage and populate lookup tables. Ability to collaborate with government departments and vendors on data strategy. Ability to define technical requirements and recommend enhancements to vendor solutions. Skilled in configuration, user setup, and environment management (testing vs production). Experience creating user documentation and training materials. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience in post-secondary sector beneficial. Experience with SaaS implementation projects beneficial. Business Analyst certification preferred.
