About the Position
The Global Marketing Team is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Brand Marketing, this position is responsible for the graphic design needs of Explore Edmonton Corporation including Explore Edmonton, Edmonton EXPO Centre, Edmonton Convention Centre (ECC), KDays, Farmfair International, Canadian Finals Rodeo, Rodeo Week, and Edmonton Urban Farm.
This includes the creative elements and design of both internal and external facing branded documents and campaign collateral.
This position also assists with general projects that come in from the Explore Edmonton team. Editing and effectively managing multiple projects at once is a key requirement.
In this role, the successful candidate will :
- Lead creative strategy, development, innovation, and production of creative assets across brands.
- Oversee the creative elements and design of both internal and external facing branded documents and campaign collateral.
- Collaborate with the Manager, Brand Marketing to manage the day-to-day briefing process, and development of concepts and creative.
- Partner with the Global Marketing team on consistent basis to align on objectives, content, and messaging
- Translate creative briefs into effective visual communications using strategy and available research
- Create engaging and creative graphics to visually represent Explore Edmonton and the organization’s family of brands (ECC, EXPO, KDays, Farmfair International, Canadian Finals Rodeo, Urban Farm, Rodeo Week)
- Present and articulate designs to Manager, Brand Marketing and Explore Edmonton business units for feedback
- Work collaboratively with the Manager, Brand Marketing to ensure business units have all their brand and design needs met
- Prioritize and execute on multiple project requests
- Brainstorm and develop creative ideas to further global marketing / brand and design KPIs and goals
- Support Manager, Brand Marketing with quality assurance and brand compliance for the Explore Edmonton brand and all related sub-brands
- Foster a collaborative environment ensure effective communication, and bridge the gap between project stakeholders to keep projects running smoothly.
- Budget collaboration, metric benchmarking and business planning

The successful candidate will have the following :
- Post-secondary education in graphic design or visual communications, preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years in a graphic design role, agency or in-house.
- Strategic, analytical and forward thinking
- Passion for travel and the tourism industry
- Excellent people and communication skills, both oral and written
- Creative mind and ability to truly understand a brand essence
- Strong design skills with a history of keeping clients happy
