Position Overview : Our client is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join their clinical team. The Nurse Practitioner is a key member of the healthcare team, providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and collaborative primary health care services to the community.
These services include primary care, occupational health, minor trauma care, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, rehabilitation, and support services.
Responsibilities : Perform comprehensive health assessments using sound clinical judgment and diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
Practice autonomously, being solely accountable for actions while practicing. Consult with physicians or other healthcare professionals when the client’s condition requires care beyond the NP's scope of practice.
Make appropriate medical employment limitation recommendations in accordance with the Surgeon General’s guidelines. Prescribe medications and order x-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests in accordance with the Standards of Practice for RNs in the Extended Class.
Implement strategies to promote health and prevent illness for individuals, families, or groups. Collaborate on the management of patients with stable chronic illnesses (such as diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and asthma) through a predetermined referral process.
Refer patients to other providers or programs according to the patient’s needs. Qualifications : Licensed and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Ontario.
