About Us
Aecon, and its predecessor companies, have been actively engaged in Nuclear Construction in Canada, and internationally, since 1967. Aecon aims to be the partner-of-choice for our nuclear clients and our dedication to excellence is leading us there. Aecon Nuclear provides a full spectrum of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing services tailored to meet the demanding requirements of the nuclear power industry. We hold a broad range of nuclear qualifications to support the nuclear industry with construction and maintenance services. Currently, Aecon is a major partner for both ongoing refurbishment programs at OPG and Bruce Power, and provides EPC services for many nuclear maintenance projects. We also provides major construction services to the nuclear power market in the US.
As a Data and Systems Analyst co-op, you will play a key role in providing ongoing support to the business unit in the area of data analytics, software support and electronic work packages for the various nuclear projects during the planning, training and execution windows. This support also includes ongoing risk analysis and reporting in the areas of safety, quality, production, and cost. This position reports directly to the Manager of Data and Systems Analyst.
What You'll Do Here
Collect, manage, and interpret data to help identify trends to support various projectDevelopment of series modeling based upon data gathering techniques, establishing automated workflows to support this modelingIndependently apply statistical analysis and process analysis techniques to support planning, training and execution phases of various projectsSupport projects and division in identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement and digital transformationDevelopment of reports, procedures and processes as requiredProvide ongoing support to clients and project teamsLiaison with vendors for development of new software, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgradesDevelop and roll out training to rest of the nuclear division on new software and technologiesGain expertise and act as a subject matter expert in one or two of the commonly used software in nuclear divisionIndependently required to plan, schedule, and manage own time, including taking into account the plans of othersWhat You Bring To The Team
3rd or 4th year Business, Computer Science or Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial)Minimum GPA of 3.0Understanding of business intelligent platforms and supporting platforms (preferably with Microsoft product knowledge) i.e. Power Bi, Power App, Power Automate and Excel.Fundamental knowledge in gateway applications as it pertains to business intelligent platforms and supporting platforms.The skillset to design and implement databases to support the business unit.Demonstrated experience with Power BI reports and dashboards a strong assetCollect, manage, and interpret data to help identify trends to support the business unit.Apply statistical analysis and process analysis techniques to help drive business solutions.Excellent interpersonal skillsExcellent written and oral communication skills
