The Opportunity
Were partnering with a Durham Region–based mechanical / industrial engineering and manufacturing firm with over 30 years of proven success delivering custom, precision-built solutions into regulated, safety-critical environments across Canada and North America.
This organization designs, manufactures, and installs highly customized mechanical interior systems , operating out of a modern manufacturing facility and supporting an active field installation team. They are now adding a Project Coordinator — a role that is central to how the business operates and delivers for its clients .
This is not an administrative role. It is a high-visibility coordination position that connects ownership, the shop, the field crews, and clients to ensure projects move forward on time, on budget, and with clarity.
About the Role
The Project Coordinator acts as the operational hub between multiple stakeholders :
- Company ownership and leadership
- Shop foreman and manufacturing team
- Field installation crews
- External clients and partners
You will be responsible for keeping potentially dozens of active projects aligned , each at different stages ranging from estimating and planning to fabrication and installation.
This role requires someone who is highly organized, proactive, and confident communicating with trades and clients alike . You must be comfortable managing competing priorities, tracking timelines, and ensuring everyone has a clear line of sight on whats happening next.

Coordinate projects from pre-production through fabrication and field installationAct as the main point of contact between clients, shop operations, and road crewsTrack and manage project schedules, milestones, and delivery timelinesSupport estimating and pre-job planning activitiesEnsure manufacturing and field teams have clear priorities and accurate informationCommunicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints proactivelyMaintain project documentation, job status updates, and reportingSupport budget awareness and help ensure projects remain on track financiallyManage a large, fast-moving portfolio — potentially 200+ projects at varying sizes and stagesWork closely with ownership and senior leadership to support executionWhat You Bring
3+ years of experience in project coordination, scheduling, or operationsBackground in mechanical construction, manufacturing, elevators, or industrial trades is strongly preferredProven ability to manage high project volume in a structured, organized wayExceptional organizational skills — you naturally create systems and structureStrong scheduling, prioritization, and time-management abilitiesConfident, articulate communicator comfortable speaking with clients and tradesProactive, go-getter mindset — you see issues early and actComfortable working directly with ownership and senior leadershipStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking tools
