St. Ann's Academy Kamloops, BC INTERNAL / EXTERNAL POSTING Part-Time 0.5 FTE School Counsellor St. Ann's Academy is celebrating over 140 years of Catholic education in BC and serves as the longest continually operating school in BC.

Located in the beautiful city of Kamloops, the school supports over 400 students between Kindergarten and Grade 12. St. Ann's Academy is seeking a talented School Counsellor to enrich the learning experience of their students.

They are hiring a School Counsellor who has a strong work ethic and is keen to be part of and work closely with, a collaborative team of teachers.

An understanding of the BC Curriculum, effective teaching and learning practices, and a commitment to professional development are essential.

As a Catholic Independent School, the teachings of the Catholic faith are integrated into every aspect of the school, and therefore, candidates who actively practice their faith are highly valued.

Qualifications : Completion of a Bachelor of Education Masters degree in School Counselling or Counselling Psychology Membership in or eligible to become a member of the BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB) Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS) Knowledge of diverse student needs and inclusive practices Ability to support the delivery of prevention and wellness programs Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the school counseling role Experience teaching Social Skills programs to students with a wide range of abilities Demonstrate ability to motivate students who have behavior patterns affecting regular school attendance Be committed to working collaboratively in a team setting with students, staff, administration, parents and community resources Documents to be included with your application : Cover Letter Resume Academic Transcripts Practicum Reports / Evaluations Two Professional References-email and phone numbers TRB (Teacher Regulation Branch) Status A Confidential Pastoral Reference Form, completed by a Catholic pastor.
