Lead Mechanical-Process Engineer

Summary of responsibilities

Reporting to the Mechanical and Piping Engineering Director, the incumbent will act as Project Lead for the team dedicated to managing the planning, construction and development of mining projects. The Lead Mechanical-Process Engineer will be specifically called to :

• Coordinate the work of a team of engineers and designers on engineering studies, basic and detail engineering projects and construction projects.
• Prepare time and cost estimates, design reports and estimates, calculation sheets, and equipment and system specifications.
• Prepare business / feasibility studies.
• Plan and prepare schedules for completion and monitor progress against this data.
• Play a key role in the mechanical design of the process plant layout at different phases of the project lifecycle.
• Select major mineral processing equipment and collaborate with equipment vendors.
• Understand process design criteria, mass and water balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs during project phases (asset).
• Analyze equipment / systems technical proposals from vendors in a multidisciplinary manner.
• Participate in the development of schedules, ensure compliance with contractual deadlines, and develop corrective actions and plans as required.
• Validate and submit budget forecasts.
• Participate in contract preparation and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements.
