We are currently supporting one of our incredible specialty pharmacy partners in their search for a pharmacy assistant in Markham for up to 3-months with the potential for extension. Are you who we are looking for?

- Work/life balance matters to you - you are available Monday to Friday for an 8-hour scheduled day shift (shifts vary week-to-week and may be scheduled anywhere from 7am - 7pm) - 30 min lunch break (unpaid)
- Our partner is a specialty pharmacy - you need to have an interest in or previous experience with prescription entry, billing and adjudication in Kroll in a fast-paced pharmacy setting. Is specialty pharmacy brand new to you? No worries, our client pharmacy's training is adapted to your learning curve! Data entry proficiency is key however, as you'll be expected to manage a mimimum of 50-60 calls/entries per shift (high touch)

AdvantagesPharmacy Assistant - 3-month contract (extension potential) - Markham, ON (Near highways 404 & 7)
- The hourly wage is estimated as $23-25hr, depending on your level of Kroll, billing, adjudication and (ideally) specialty medication experience
- Up to 3-month temporary assignment based on work performance with full-time hours (extension potential)
- The pharmacy is clean, ergonomic, technologically advanced, and beautifully designed.
- The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM - all shifts must be worked as part of a rotation - no weekends, ensuring a better work-life balance.

- While not guaranteed, there is potential for this role to eventually transition into a permanent opportunity with the pharmacy.

ResponsibilitiesPharmacy Assistant - 3-month contract (extension potential) - Markham, ON (Near highways 404 & 7)
- Manage multiple tasks related to prescription-related admin and calls to the programs and clinics to ensure faxes are received and they are aware of the same / requesting info related to prescription processing
- Calling patients and following up on accounts and supporting payment for the same in Kroll and leveraging your billing and adjudication expertise (ODB and private payors)
- Dispensing and managing patient medication administration in Kroll as part of duties
- Demonstrate strong English communication skills, particularly when interacting with patients over the phone and in written communication. Calls require professionalism, empathy and clear communication as many calls require you to utilize your problem solving skills to support patients dealing with various conditions.
- Perform data entry tasks, including working with Kroll and supporting fax management

- Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant, regardless of the setting, is required to ensure you are set up for success.
- Exposrure to Kroll in a steady-to-fast paced pharmacy setting is preferred
- Exceptional billing and adjudication experience is required to help coordinate benefits, and ensure patients can get access to their medications
- Strong communication skills are crucial for this role.
- This role involves on-site work at all times (not remote, not hybrid)
- Positive team spirit, initiative, and interest in a specialty setting are also a must!
