About the role

We’re looking for Claims Adjusters to join our growing team!

If you do not yet have your claims adjuster licence, it’s not a problem – we’ll take care of your training!

Location: Montreal (2020 boulevard Robert-Bourassa), Laval (600 rue Lucien-Paiement), Quebec City (5700 boulevard des Galeries) or Saint-Hyacinthe (2450 rue Girouard Ouest).

Work schedule: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday (35 hours/week)

What you’ll do here:

  • Open new claims over the phone with customers, then ensure the situation is handled immediately.

  • Interview insureds and/or witnesses to gather their accounts of events.

  • Determine whether the claim is covered or not by analyzing the insured’s policy details.

  • Analyze the information obtained, make decisions to determine liability and review damage assessments.

  • Settle claims fairly and equitably, confirm damage amounts and make payments.

What you bring to the table:

  • Claims adjuster licence and successful completion of exams.

  • Experience in a similar position.

  • Strong time-management skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

What we’re looking for:

To obtain your claims adjuster licence, you must have:

  • An attestation of college studies (AEC) in Insurance or a completed CEGEP or bachelor’s degree (an exception is possible if you have a high school diploma AND three years of full-time work experience).

  • Your excellent customer service skills will allow you to reassure and support your customers throughout the claims process.

  • Your analytical skills will enable you to use your judgment and logic when evaluating claims files.

  • You’re not afraid of using different computer systems to perform your tasks.

  • You’re able to adapt to change in a constantly evolving environment.

  • You are bilingual (English-French): For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

Training

  • Your full-time paid training will give you hands-on experience in the insurance industry and with Intact’s corporate culture.

  • You will be paid, mentored and supported during your exam preparation to obtain your claims adjuster licence.
